Student: Abdullah Badawy
Objective: Landing an illustration on the cover of a national magazine is the dream of many illustrators. For this assignment, students were asked to choose a contemporary figure in the music industry and create an illustration to appear on the cover of a Rolling Stone-type magazine. Challenges often include creating the visual picture that the author has painted with words from the interview. Abdullah selected Zack De La Rocha from the band Rage Against The Machine. The front man is known for his politically charged music and larger-than-life stage presence, which is conveyed through Abdullah’s illustration.
